Rory Parnell-Mooney’s MA graduate collection was received positively back in February 2014. His debut collection – for London Collections: Men within the MAN initiative – has been highly anticipated.

Parallels between his MA and FW15 collections are present: inspiration from ecclesiastical dress and adjacent placements of modern and traditional fabrics and details. Pull tabs acted as fastenings – a modern and refreshing variance compared to the conventional zip and button – while cotton poplin and wool melton were sliced at right-angles to punctuate the deep-blue colour scheme present throughout.

Looks were concluded with accessories, like the low-peaked caps, and gave a sinister feel by shadowing the boys’ faces. Conclusively, Rory delivered an impressive first showing; the anticipation was worth it.
