The fabric works of the late French-American sculptor and artist Louise Bourgeois played a key role in the crafting of Nicomede Talavera’s collection at MAN.

Silhouettes were simple: in many cases they formed as boxy tunics that hung crisply over tailored pants, leaving the pleated and blocked colour works to take the limelight. Yet there was also movement here, present in the swing of heavily oversized shorts and the subtle flare of an arm from the elbow. And while there was a certain romance to the hues of pink, red and beige that lined each look, this was a collection totally masculine in its arty confidence.
