Urban duality

Issey Miyake Men FW18
By Lisa Walden | Fashion | 19 January 2018

The Issey Miyake Men ethos of “focusing on a piece of cloth” felt like a key focus in the brand’s FW18 show, as garments were draped, tied or loosely fitted. Yusuke Takahashi also threw some seriously striking cherry-red nylon macs into the mix, as well as mustard-yellow blazers and black puffer coats, which were effortlessly left undone, while a handful of black tuxes with satin collars gave way to more formal looks.

Elsewhere in the show, models had supersized bags tied around the waist, while others carried them close to their body like a briefcase. The clothes felt minimalist yet rich – perfectly in tune with the house’s DNA.
