This December will see the release of Dries by Reiner Holzemer, a documentary on the Belgium fashion designer and his eponymous atelier.

Holzemer offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at Dries Van Noten‘s creative processes as he designs four new collections over the course of a year, as reported by Variety. The film also chronicles Noten’s 25-year career through intimate interviews with the designer and some of his fashion friends. Expect to see appearances from Iris Apfel, Suzy Menkes and Pamela Golbin, chief curator of fashion and textiles at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

According to Holzemer it took a long time to convince the designer to open up about himself, “I followed him for a whole year and I think I came as close to him and his world as it is possible. I hope the result is a very personal insight into his life and career.”

Holzemer is a German filmmaker and founder of the Reiner Holzemer Film Production which started in 1983. His production company has developed and produced more than 30 documentary films and artist portraits. Reiner’s work often focuses on internationally renowned artists.

Dries is currently in production and is due for release December 2016.
