McQ enlist Japanese psych noise band Bo Ningen for FW16 campaign
By Tempe Nakiska | 14 July 2016

McQ have today unleashed their FW16 campaign, starring psychedelic Japanese noise rock band Bo Ningen and model Greta Varlese.

The campaign was shot by photographer Harley Weir, who captured the subversive energy of the band, dressed in looks from both the men’s and women’s FW16 collection. The pairing ties back to the collection inspiration, which drew from the electric underground energy of Shinjuku’s 70s club kids.

“It was such an extraordinary experience to be a part of McQ’s campaign,” said the band’s guitarist, Yuki Tsujii, of the project. “They eagerly collaborate with artists and musicians, whilst keeping the charm of the brand, unlike other conventional houses.”

It’s clearly a strong match: the band are set to wear custom made McQ looks while on European tour over the summer, kicking off with a string of UK festival dates later this month. If you’ve got tickets keep your eyes peeled for these guys, their set is a journey you don’t want to miss.
