Neil Barrett has dived into his archives for a special collection designed in in collaboration with luxury retailer Harvey Nichols. Titled ‘ORIGINALS: Vol #1’ the capsule draws from Barrett’s work over the past decade, rounding out the ultimate Neil Barrett wardrobe.

“I was thinking about those pieces that I like to wear, those clothes that you cherish in your mind,” said Barrett of the inspiration. “Basically the pieces my friends, my family wear and love.”

Barrett is known for the minimal menswear aesthetic he pioneered at Gucci and Prada in the 90s and has honed under his eponymous label, which he founded in 1999. The designer says he selected his favourite looks from the last 10-12 years and worked with Harvey Nichols to make small edits to the garments before putting them into production as originals.

The twelve original designs include iconic buffalo jackets and studded leather, leather detailed coats and tees, track pants, jacquard suiting, monochrome and colour blocked shirts and signature Barrett double-bonded sweatshirts.

The collection is being showcased in Harvey Nichols concept space Project 109, released to mark the launch of the refurbished Harvey Nichols menswear department. It’s a slick new destination where Barrett’s timeless, stripped back aesthetic feels well at home.

ORIGINALS Vol #1 is available exclusively from Harvey Nichols.
