David Lynch is working on writing his memoirs, to address the “bullshit out there about me, in books and all over the Internet” and offer a glimpse into his warped mind.

Titled Life & Work, the book will focus on his biography and his creative work. But as we’ve come to expect from the ambiguous director, the book isn’t exactly as it seems. Part memoir, part biography, the quasi-memoir will include Lynch’s musings intertwined with his life story from interviews with friend and journalist Kristine McKenna.

“I want to get all the right information in one place, so if someone wants to know something, they can find it here. And I wouldn’t do it with anyone other than Kristine; she and I go way back, and she gets it right.” Lynch said in a statement from Canongate, who will publish the book in the UK.

Lynch is currently shooting a third series of his cult TV show Twin Peaks, which is also due for release in 2017, following a 25 year break. The book will not be the director’s first, in 2007, he published the meditation and self-help guide Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity.
