Crack Cloud made us an exclusive UK tour short film
By Alex James Taylor | Music | 14 January 2025

Since forming in 2015, Canadian collective Crack Cloud has consistently experimented and evolved. Across three studio records and multiple line-up shifts – frontman Zach Choy remains a permanent leader – Crack Cloud never misses on putting out the most arresting, unpredictable, addictive sound around. Their latest record, Red Mile, continues the group’s progression. Recorded between the outskirts of Joshua Tree, California, and their home in Calgary, Alberta, the work distils the haywire energy of previous albums towards a newfound clarity – those abrasive edges remain wonderfully spikey, this time lifted by sweeping orchestration that mirrors the ethereal expanse of the Joshua Tree landscape.

Recently, the band travelled to the UK to perform a headline sold out gig at Camden’s KOKO alongside a BBC Maida Vale session. While in town, they shot and edited a HERO exclusive short film documenting their time here. Watch the film below.
