Fashion | 3 July 2022

Time flies, so to keep you in the loop, we’ve rounded up all the important snippets of fashion news from the past seven days into one neat feature. This week includes Bethany Williams denim and Courtney Love for Vivienne Westwood.

Courtney Love modelled for Vivienne Westwood
Proper dream team – the BFF joined forces for the FW22 Westwood campaign imagery, shot by Juergen Teller in Battersea, the location of the maison’s studio.

Sustainable denim brand ISKO worked with Bethany Williams
Providing denim fabric for the British designer’s exclusive capsule collection in collab with Browns – available now! – ISKO’s fabrics were crafted into vests, dungarees, jackets and trousers in dark and light washes, while patch detailing and repurposed flags added the detail. The capsule expands Williams’ ‘The Hands that Heal Us’ collection, in which Bethany drew inspiration from her social manufacturing partners and their focus on craftsmanship.

Kate Moss is the creative director at Diet Coke
No, this isn’t some mad feverdream, the international supermodel will take control of the iconic fizzy drink in a business capacity. While an official statement says Moss will “use Diet Coke as a canvas to inspire generations”, further details are yet to be revealed, but this is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Manolo Blahnik meets Graceland
You heard right, the legendary Spanish shoemaker has traded in the colourful and aristocratic codes of 18th-century Paris for the stage of a rock ‘n’ roll legend: Elvis. Teaming up with Baz Luhrmann and Academy Award-winning costume designer Catherine Martin, with whom he worked closely beside for Moulin Rouge, Blahnik made a slew of lace-up 1950s-era footwear – the preferred style of the ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ singer – which he confessed were a “joy to create”. Talk about a meeting of the minds…

Alexander McQueen‘s SS23 menswear collection was out of this world
Sarah Burton looked skywards for her latest Alexander McQueen menswear collection, deep into the night sky. Here, shooting stars become shimmering embroidery across meticulous tailoring, and abstract, sci-fi cuts project a sense of modernism. Muted pink two-pieces appear coated in moon dust, 70s-style boilersuits conjure intergalactic troubadours and leather harnesses strapped across denim shirting prepare us for a wild, cosmic ride.

Boiler Room get festival-ready with Utopia Dance
The stylish realm of rave is a tricky one to navigate. With D&B heads cherishing floppy bucket hats, vintage Moschino and as much Burbs as they can get their hands on, and Tech-lovers oscillating between sporty athletic wear, or, at the harder end of the spectrum, latex and baggy goth pants, you might feel a little lost when it comes to festival dressing. Luckily enough, Boiler Room’s latest drop is seeking to quell those woes with a slew of streetwear silhouettes perfect for any occasion. From olive-hued cargo pants and breezy, lemon long sleeves, to ornate printed tees and mesh utility jackets, this is some seriously club-ready clobber.
