Anderson returned to physical runway format last season having presented his recent collections (since lockdown) through the brand’s innovative ‘show-in-a-box’ format: sending an interactive box of mixed-media items to editors, including fabric samples, DIY puzzles and posters. But this latest announcement introduces a new “itinerant presentation model” which is set to take JW Anderson on tour to cities around the world that align with Anderson’s creative vision.
“For the past few seasons I enjoyed exploring new ways to present the JW Anderson collections,” said Anderson. “Like our shows in a box and our most recent calendar with Juergen Teller, I wanted to do a physical show again but try something different: so we’ll be showing in Milan, a city I love and find inspiration often.”
While Carlo Capasa, Chairman of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana commented: “I am pleased and proud to host the JW Anderson fashion show in Milan in our January calendar. This is the confirmation of the positive energy that pervades our city. Milan is increasingly becoming a reference hub that brings together big brands, new talents and independent creatives, showing itself as a city of reference in which to combine creativity and know-how.”
