After Ludovic de Saint Sernin announced he would be holding off from showing his FW21 collection until February, the blow has been considerably softened by the arrival of an appetite-whetting preview film, below.

With a pop-up exhibition currently on view at Paris’ Joyce Gallery, featuring some of Sernin’s recent personal projects alongside work from his community of collaborators (including Willy Vanderperre), the video entitled Do You Remember is just the latest meditation on life in quarantine. Lucky visitors to that pop-up will have the opportunity to preview Sernin’s latest collection in person, but for those of us unable to make it to Paris Do You Remember? is the next best thing.

As its title suggests, this film is a nostalgic look back to simpler times but one that cleverly doubles as an optimistic vision of the future. Set in a past (or future) where hosting drinks before a night on the town is still permitted, the film follows three friends dressed in typically bedazzling looks as they warm up to a specially conceived track by Only Fire. Filled with temptation, from the clothes to the carefree sense of fun, the film not only recalls what we lost but asks whether we will remember how to reclaim it.
