Woof Woof

Balenciaga employees have printed photos of their pets across this new collection

Legend has it that at the age of six, Cristóbal Balenciaga cut his first piece of clothing – a coat for his cat. Too good a story not to be true, we’re taking this ‘fact’ as the inspiration behind Balenciaga‘s latest venture: a capsule collection in support of animal rescue services.

Titled, I Love Pets, the collection features photo prints of rescued pets owned by Balenciaga employees alongside playful slogans like ‘I Love Dogs’, ‘Meow’ and ‘Woof Woof’. These come cast across tees, hoodies, jewellery, charms, earrings and totes. The pieces also feature a phone number that connects you directly to a Balenciaga hotline set up to offer advice about adopting pets from shelters and a website designed to raise awareness of the plight of abandoned animals.

Ten percent of all proceeds from the capsule will be donated to La SPA, France’s most prominent animal protection charity (founded in 1845) and will go towards helping our vulnerable four-legged (more/less) friends. Cristóbal would be pleased.
