Originally conceived by co-designers Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault as a way of tapping into the brand’s creative network without flouting lockdown rules, the project gives creative carte blanche to its participants, encouraging them to express personal interpretations of the brand’s codes.

From musician Shy Girl to photographer Harley Weir and athlete Ysaora Thibus (among many others), PROXY is an opportunity for Knowles to be defined by the plethora of different women who wear her clothes. Produced in collaboration with art director Ben Kelway, photographer Arnaud Lajeunie and stylist Georgia Pendlebury, the series is accompanied by a series of short films featuring FW20 accessories and jewellery.

“The project was really about finding a way to be creative, to connect with people during quarantine, ” said Knowles and Arsenault of the project. “It was a silver lining to have time to organise this project ourselves, along with our team. We reached out to the people who have a connection with the brand; people who we find inspiring and want to put on a pedestal. It’s a project we want to continue, adding to the amazing roster of people involved.”

So far the project includes: Georgia Pendlebury, Lily McMenamy, Harley Weir, Georgia Palmer, Grace Hartzel, Amalia S. De Nieves, Caroline Polachek, Priscilla Cheseaux, Isamaya Ffrench, Shy Girl, Ariish Wol, Aweng Chuol, Ysaora Thibus and Dustin Muchuvitz.
