2 Moncler 1952 offers a pop twist on Moncler’s heritage design
Fashion | 29 August 2019

Launched as the next installment in Moncler‘s nine-part Genius project, 2 Moncler 1952’s latest collection sees the Italian brand dip into its heritage via the creative vision of guest designer Sergio Zambon (former designer of Moncler Twist). Taking its name from the year the outerwear label was founded in the French Alps, the collection is a nod to “Moncler as an icon that is real and rooted in youth culture.”

Born in Egypt to an Italian father and a Croatian mother before moving to Rome to study at Istituto Europeo di Design, Zambon knows a thing or two about adaptability and movement. Handed free reign, the designer fused these qualities with Moncler’s archival designs and a youthful spirit. Here, laid-back silhouettes are given padded volume, relaxed tailoring features alongside lightweight outerwear, technical fabrics are repurposed as casualwear and fleeces offer both comfort and style. Designed for both city-dwellers and mountain hikers, travelling between the two should be easy with the collection’s Valextra luggage collaboration.
