Stone Island has created paintball camo
Fashion | 26 June 2019

Within Stone Island‘s latest FW19 drop, the Italian brand has unveiled a new paintball camo dye technique. Unique to each piece, the process involves ‘shooting’ coloured dyes on the finished garment to create a custom pattern.

A process created in the brand’s highly innovative in-house factory, which stores each new dye in a vast archive (currently standing at more than 60,000), the paintball camo isn’t alone in this season’s inventive new collection.

Never ones to stand still, the new Stone Island collection also boasts a leather that’s been laminated to a light non-woven fabric in Dyneema® – “the strongest and most durable lightweight fibre in the world” – a cotton nylon ripstop woven with highly reflective tape, incorporating thousands of glass microspheres that shimmer in the light, and a Panno Jacquard garment lined in a gauzed cloth and inspired by military woolen blankets.
