Stone Island are celebrating industrial strength for FW18
By Finn Blythe | Fashion | 27 June 2018

Never ones to stand still, Stone Island have released an FW18 collection brimming with all the typically impressive innovations and technologies one has come to expect from the Italian brand. For the forthcoming season they’re investigating industrial strength, which, unsurprisingly, translates into a collection full of strong looks and even stronger fibres.

Take their new ice jacket for example. When it was first introduced in 1988 it was the world’s first heat sensitive outerwear, now, some twenty years on and this latest iteration introduces another world first: a heat sensitive leather garment. Not only is the leather bonded to a layer of Dyneema (only the strongest and most durable lightweight fibre in the world), but it’s coated with thermosensitive agents, which means just as its predecessors, the new ice jacket changes colour with the lowering of temperature.

Elsewhere, Stone Island’s monochrome ghost pieces make a return with a new beige edition, while a new white tiger camouflage pattern is revealed for the first time. See the whole collection in broody teen motion by watching the above video.
