Rooted in adventure and wilderness, British heritage brand Holland & Holland travelled to rural Mongolia with photographer Jamie Hawkesworth for its SS18 campaign.

Originally founded in 1835, in 2016 the brand underwent a sharp reinvention under the control of creative duo Stella Tennant and Isabella Cawdor. Informed by the pair’s intrepid side, this new imagery comes backdropped by the incredible landscape of Inner Mongolia, the luxury garments prove that they’re fit for all terrains – from the Yorkshire Moors to East Asia.

“Stella and I are naturally inquisitive; we love to see how people live in different cultures, with different languages,” explains Cawdor. “We’re intrigued by human nature, especially in places where people are so in tune with the natural world.”

Providing the ultimate all-weather wardrobe, the SS18 collection mixes cashmere jumpers, waterproof trenches, Aertex shirts, lightweight linen shorts and uniquely developed tweeds and silken scarves decorated by Hugo Guinness, the celebrated British painter, illustrator, and writer.

“These are clothes for someone who sees a distant horizon, who wants to travel and explore the world,” says Tennant. “But when you’re in the wilderness, you want to feel that the human hand is close.”
