Long-time favourite of Alexander McQueen, filmmaker Masha Vasyukova, has directed a short film to launch the house’s SS18 menswear collection.

Shot in London, the film features a trio of models – Willow Barrett, Benjamin Lessore and Chris Diena – wandering the city in key looks from the SS18 collection.

Think back to Alexander McQueen’s SS18 menswear collection and you’ll recall the Rudyard Kipling reference points – his 1898 poem, The Explorer, appeared printed and embroidered across clothing – and a focus on luxe materials – double-dyed wool, Prince of Wales check, washed leather, Japanese denim, poplin, wool and silk jacquard – as Sarah Burton transformed models into pioneers and explorers.

Here, Vasyukova creates a scene in tune with the brand’s SS18 vision, enabling its heroes to blend in on the streets of London – a city synonymous with the brand.
