Yesterday, the trailer for Stranger Things season 2 dropped at Comic-Con.

Having spun us into a world of mystery, horror and 80s nostalgia, season one’s finale left us with more questions than answers. This first glimpse of season 2 transports us back to Hawkins, Indiana, and reintroduces us to everyone’s favourite childhood friendship gang.

“It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived,” reads the blurb.

Soundtracked to Vincent Price’s ominous narration at the start of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and featuring Dragon’s Lair, some rad Ghostbusters costumes, and Regan-Bush campaign placards, those cult 80’s touchstones are aplenty. Eggos at the ready, watch the trailer below.

One big reveal is the return of Eleven, who appears to escape back into the real world through a tear in the Upside Down. The series also sees the return of Winona Ryder, Gaten Matarazzo, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, and Joe Keery, who will be joined by Goonies star Sean Astin, who plays Bob Newby, a kind-hearted former nerd who went to high school with Joyce Byers (Ryder) and Sheriff Hopper (Harbour).

The second season of Stranger Things drops 27th October via Netflix.
