Fisherman Fetish

January showers hit the Topman Design catwalk early thanks to a sprinkler-aided flash flood, drenching the catwalk for a floor-watering finale. Luckily, the models were fully prepared – industrial fisherman boots, smoked ponchos and funnel-neck knits.
Black on black. Wool on wool. Fisherman fetishism brought to life through PVC peacoats, ponchos and trousers.

The resolute slur of Salford punk poet John Cooper Clarke introduced the show, bringing the Manchester rain directly to London, a perfect match for the monochrome show. A collection impressive, spectacular and definitely waterproof. In the words of John Cooper Clarke, ‘Speaking as a professional poet, There’s apparel, Jim, watch this space’.
