Inspired by Zen monks, Siki Im’s SS17 collection embodied a monochromatic simplicity which perfectly harmonised with the designer’s signature silhouette.
The models walked to the sound of solo piano to stand in the calm, naturally lit room. Minus the drama of your typical runway, attention was left to focus on on the clothing. For the first time Siki Im showed all three of his collections at once, from mainline to contemporary and introducing his new performance line. Baggy shorts are worn with collarless shirts, cropped oversized trousers paired with blazers and kimonos. Performance garments crafted through laser and ultrasonic cutting were in perfect harmony together with selvedge denim jeans or tailored linen coats.
