Geometric livin’

Missoni SS17

Known for their lively knitwear, Missoni SS17 was characterised by an informal and relaxed elegance that contoured with the lines of the body. Whilst still engaging with their signature zigzag motifs, designer Angela Missoni explored long and floaty dress silhouettes cast with simple geometric patterns and blocks of colour: think yellow, turquoise, coral, sand, white and black, all in embroidered lace knits and meshes paired with brightly coloured flats. Meanwhile, plunging necklines and skimpy bathing suits and bikinis were cut from lightweight space-dye knitwear, worn with colourfully-lacquered disc earrings.

Missoni are the Italian masters of knitwear, and here the family line proved why still so. Against the backdrop of an ice blue sci-fi set, they exacted their vision through a firmly modern lens.
