Countryside retreat

If you ever spent halcyon days as a kid traipsing through the countryside in remote pictorial areas like Dorset or Suffolk, then boy does Lou Dalton have a nostalgia-riddled collection for you.

Sat atop crumbling bails of hay, models posed twiddling dried daisies between their fingers. They looked set for an afternoon out adventuring, mostly thanks to the black calf-high socks and hiking boots they wore on foot.

As for the clothing, there were hallmark pieces expected of a Dalton offering: traditional diamond knits and structured check Harrington jackets were paired together. The vintage-feel revere-collar shirts added a refined element to the collection, but the standout pieces were the pastel-hued bleached denim jackets and loose-fitting shorts. The presence of earthy, autumnal tones also gave the range an air of sophistication, but the abundance of lightweight layers kept the collection fresh and warm-weather-ready. In short, where Dalton’s concerned, summer high jinks awaits.
