Armani is one designer who knows how to elegantly fill out a wardrobe. His own, yes: a highly successful strategy in his consistent creation of the classic pieces his refined customer can’t help but own.

FW14 was no exception. Starting with a series of tailored grey looks, the mood was sophisticated with a utilitarian feel. Shirts were often collarless, bombers cropped and knits double breasted, with slightly dropped crotches in a couple of instances injecting a casual tone.

There was, of course, a different side presented with leather pants and glossy finishes idealising a more daring look. But the overwhelming approach was one that defined the male torso, cleanly and without severe effort.
