Toxic Paradise

Fashion East: A.V. Robertson SS17
By Katie Alcock | Fashion | 20 September 2016

Grown out of the post-apocalyptic botanicals of Day of the Triffids and the otherworldly oddness of Forbidden Planet, A.V. Robertson’s SS17 collection was a toxic paradise. Beautifully possessed, the plants have taken over mutating the models into slow-walking, green-tinted aliens. Delicately balancing space age metallics with floral embellished chiffon, this collection was defined by modern, wearable silhouettes and infectious shades of purple, rust and green. Bleached blonde models in bug-eyed sunglasses and acid green silk were followed by blue-lipped belles in in sheer slips. Scattered with blossoming vines, these thinly veiled bodies harboured a sinister, brooding affectation.
