The Saint Laurent show is consistently one of the buzziest shows of fashion week, and this season saw creative director Anthony Vaccarello continue on his journey of filtering the house’s codes through his own vision. Today, Saint Laurent has released a special video featuring the FW17 collection, shot at the show venue.

The film was directed by Nathalie Canguilhem, the creative who has also been responsible for several short films for the house in recent months, including the menswear short released in January.

Filmed amongst industrial-looking scaffolding at the show location  – the under-construction new Saint Laurent HQ – the film sees models wearing pieces from the collection, all the details captured up close.

The collection itself mixed high with low – crystal with denim; dangerously short hem lines with 80s shoulders on turbo-drive. Vaccarello described it as “a radical fantasy of this heritage,” saying, “I love Monsieur Saint Laurent’s subversive approach to clothes, his dark romanticism with a hint of perversity.”

The film bottles that dark energy – watch it below.
