Today, Raf Simons reveals his eponymous brand’s SS17 campaign, shot by Willy Vanderperre and styled by Olivier Rizzo.

Rewind to June last year when Raf showed his Spring/Summer collection during Pitti Uomo – before he shocked everyone by announcing that he will take the helm at Calvin Klein (mark your diaries for that debut on 10th Feb during NYFW) – and you’ll remember his Robert Mapplethorpe-inspired offering.

Inspired by Mapplethorpe’s seminal works exploring sexuality and homoeroticism, Simons placed the photographer’s works across his clothing designs, as well as taking influence from the New Yorker’s own wardrobe – leather caps and white long shirts a-plenty.

Shot in monochrome, the accompanying imagery is reminiscent of Mapplethorpe’s iconic aesthetic.
