Back in early 2016, renowned South African photographer Pieter Hugo travelled to Jamaica to capture a series of portraits using seminal pieces from the Hood By Air archive, these images were later published in the book PH & HBA.

With the aim of drawing attention to the threat towards sexually ambiguous characters in a country where homosexuality is still illegal (punishable by up to ten years in prison), the street cast featured male porn stars and members of Gully Queens, a condemned gay community who have sought refuge in Kingston’s underground drainage systems.

These images have now been reinterpreted as a new capsule collection consisting of seven specially designed long sleeve raglans available for purchase on hoodbyair.com.
