New appointment

Vetements has recruited former Margiela designer Nina Nitsche

Today, Vetement‘s founder and creative director Demna Gvasalia announced the appointment of Nina Nitsche.

Nitsche worked at Maison Margiela for almost 20 years, her career began as Martin Margiela’s first assistant then as lead designer, until leaving the house in 2012.

“Now it is becoming adult,”Gvasalia explained to WWD about the news. He then went on to confirm Nitsche’s title as collection director, explaining the she will lead the design team under his creative direction.

Georgian-born Gvasalia is also creative director at Balenciaga, which is scheduled to show its spring collection in Paris on Sunday. Stay tuned to HERO for our coverage of the show.
