Wolfgang Tillmans walks for Hood By Air

Artist, musician and photographer Wolfgang Tillmans seems to be popping up everywhere lately. First, it was his foray into music with Frank Ocean’s Endless album, where he contributed to the closing track. Then, he announced a new EP release, Device Control slated for release on 16th September with electronic duo Salem (including a remix track with electronic trio Salem). And don’t forget about his poignant venture into politics, when he released a couple of Anti-Brexit pieces, which were available to buy in poster, tote bag, and t-shirt form.

Yesterday, the German polymath made an appearance on the NYFW runway, walking for Hood by Air.

Always likely to throw in a curveball or two in the mix, Hood By Air showcased their highly-anticipated (PornHub sponsored) SS17 collection at New York Fashion Week and everyone was equally as surprised as they were excited when they saw Tillmans strutting down the runway. He was clad entirely in black, with only flared wellington-like boots, underwear, and a long coat to his body – with what looks like an entire tube of gel in his hair and vaseline covered face. Credit to Tillmans, we think he’s actually working this Berghain-friendly look.
