Balenciaga are set to launch a menswear line for SS17 and are presenting it via a runway show during Paris fashion week, marking the brand’s first menswear show in its storied 99-year history.

“The show will debut the masculine vision of Balenciaga’s new artistic director Demna Gvasalia,” read a statement released by the House. Having been appointed at Balenciaga seven months ago, last season saw the Vetements designer present his first womenswear collection for the house to critical acclaim. This bold move marks a defining step in Gvaslia tuning the brand in with his distinct creative vision. And going by his debut show, this is certain to be a defining moment in the season’s calendar.
