A closer look
Jonathan Anderson has released a preview of LOEWE’s FW16 campaign a season ahead of its original release-date, disclosing three images from the line-up.
The release coincides with the LOEWE FW16 womenswear show, taking place this Friday during Paris Fashion Week. Typically, brands wait until the cusp of a corresponding season to let their campaigns loose; Anderson’s divergent approach opposes the norm. (There’s a lot of that going around at the moment, check here.)
Steven Meisel continues the singular partnership with LOEWE, shooting the imagery for the campaign as previously. One campaign image is a contact print taken from the photographer’s 2016 series, A Closer Look, representing self-contemplation; its subject is meditative, pensive, vulnerable.
Further to that, the sneak-peek’s two other images complement Meisel’s black-and-white contact: a neutral-toned shot of Liya Kebede in FW16 LOEWE, and a playful, pendant design of a cat’s face, a nod to modern-day’s obsessive attention given to creatures that are showcased digitally.
