Swedish brand Eytys are mad for a creative collision. This week they’ve dropped a sharp new one, in the form of a footwear collaboration with legendary skateboarder Ali Boulala.

Boulala’s name is synonymous with late-1990s and early 2000s international skate, his singular, hell for leather style in a league of its own and going on to launch a thousand kid copycats. Just take his infamous attempt to ollie a 25 foot stairwell in Lyon. Not once, but twice.

Now, the fellow Swede has worked with Eytys to create his ideal ‘post-skate’ shoe, rebooting the classic Mother low-tops via croc embossed leather and nylon mesh skate detailing, plus fake fur lining for extra comfort and a box cast with a visual from one of Boulala’s most iconic films. There are also two merch t-shirts, made in Japan.

“We’ve known Ali for a while and have always admired his way of dressing,” said Eytys creative director and co-founder Max Schiller of the collab. “He has this rock ’n’ roll yet tailored approach to style that revolutionised the skate world and had us completely mesmerised as teenagers.”

The collaboration is being sold exclusively in store and online at Colette, Caliroots, Eytys Stockholm City and Eytys, get your order in quick.
