Cult photographer Ian David Baker was lesser known for his insightful shots of street protests – particularly Gay Pride parades – and youth culture, and more for his coastal photographs that seeped hard-hitting nostalgia and perceptive eccentricities stemming from British seaside-resorts.

Jonathan Anderson has revived the former for a specially curated, online exhibition and one-time chance to purchase such unseen images plucked from Baker’s archive. The original negatives no longer exist making these hand-produced prints the last of their kind.

The collection is candidly stark offering a distinct, artful viewpoint of historical and societal shifts and the concept of vulnerability. Baker’s work – predominantly taken during the ’80s and ’90s – was printed initially in gay pin-up magazine, Mister, for a series called “Cruising Camera”, and his own publications: Out of Season (1987); and Younger Days (1993).
