For the nationals in his last year of karting, 2009, he was running in the top five in every race, out of four hundred drivers.

Now aged nineteen, he’s been lapping a Porsche 944 in the NASA spec championship series, battling inches apart from other (identical) cars at 120 mph, in what is a showcase of skill — uniform machinery puts talent, the human in amongst those nuts and bolts, on a pedestal. Or literally on a podium, post-race.
