A German gallery worker has been fired for hanging his own artwork

It seems a man who worked for Munich’s Pinakothek der Moderne was fired this week for hanging his own painting on the wall of the gallery. Hoping that some wealthy punter would see his great work and make him instantly famous, the employee hung his “60cm by 120cm artwork” on a bare wall in the gallery where it stayed for a short time before someone noticed the gallery’s odd new acquisition.

Drilling two holes in the gallery’s wall to hang his artwork, the man is now under police investigation for damage to public property. According to the police report, the man hoped that the action would be his artistic breakthrough. Instead, he was instantly fired and banned from entering the gallery. But look, you can’t blame him for trying.
