Both purveyors of life’s simple comforts, Birkenstock 1774 – the brand’s special projects line – and Copenhagen homeware brand Tekla have joined forces on a limited collection of footwear and sleepwear.

Designed around moments of contemplation and stillness of mind (we could do with a bit of that), the collection combines Birkenstock’s signature silhouettes with Tekla’s distinctive approach to colour and fabrication. Within this, Birkenstock’s classic Nagoya slip-on clog and Uji sandal are reworked with elongated straps and hand-stitching. Tonally, the shoes are cast in shades of Slate, Straw, Mauve and Powder – created to give the appearance of being “dipped in colour.” As for the sleepwear, easeful shapes offer ultimate options for that mid-time between leaving bed and being arsed to get properly dressed – wardrobe essentials.

The collection launches on 12th October at 1774.com and teklafabrics.com before being available at retailers globally from 17th October.
