Ahluwalia’s Unison collection is a relaxed, everyday essential
Fashion | 13 April 2023

Ahluwalia releases the Unison collection – a gender-neutral offering that provides wardrobe essentials guided by the London-based brand’s distinct codes.

Consisting of eleven pieces of clothing –  including hoodies, tees, sweatshirts and shorts – made from GOTS-certified cotton and recycled polyester sourced from ocean waste, the Unison collection features the Ahluwalia logo alongside a dictionary definition and phonetic spelling – AH-LOO-WAH-LEE-AH. Signature Ahluwalia motifs are also present across drawstrings and embroidered pockets. Celebrating the release, the collection is accompanied by a campaign starring three talents from designer Priya Ahuluwalia’s community photographed in places personal to each person: Anita Chhiba, Founder and Director of Diet Paratha; Jordan Akisawyerr a triple jumper & model; and Calypso Barnum-Bobb a Self-Discovery Coach, and business mentor.

“We have been building the Ahluwalia community through design, visual arts, and our books and prints,” says Ahuluwalia. “As our community and brand continue to expand, I really wanted to create pieces to welcome more people into the Ahluwalia world. Each piece has been carefully crafted with innovative materials and feature a playful nod to all of the mispronunciations of my name.

I am inspired by Calypso, Anita and Jordan’s stories, journeys, and work! Their unwavering passion and dedication are a true testament to the incredible individuals that make up our vibrant community. Collaborating with them on this campaign gave us the opportunity to celebrate their individuality whilst showcasing the threads that beautifully bring them in Unison with one another.”
