Lucie and Luke Meier have unveiled their new campaign for Jil Sander+, returning to the vertiginous Swiss Alps of their childhood for a series of images shot by British photographer Nikki McClarron that underscore the wintry elements of their latest seasonal collection.

Shot in the picturesque ski-resort town of Zermatt at the foot of Switzerland’s iconic Matterhorn peak, the campaign is an opportunity for the design duo to reconnect with the place of their childhood and all its many natural wonders. Having both grown up in the mountains, skiing through the winter and hiking during the summer months, the images emphasise an emotive connection to the natural world that runs through the Meiers’ time at Jil Sander.

This is, after all, a theme at the very centre of their new seasonal collection for Jil Sander+, which combines practical, mountain-ready materials with an elevated sense of occasion. From the high rubber boots designed for trudging through thick snow to the shearling outerwear pieces that cocoon wearers against the cold, this is a collection designed to experience the beauty of winter at its ethereal best, regardless of where you are in the world. The campaign not only gives the collection a test run against the elements but illustrates the essence of this season’s themes, perfectly encapsulated by pristine peaks and pure Alpine light.
