Fila announce an upcoming collaboration with Y/PROJECT to be unveiled in Paris

For their 110th anniversary, Fila have teased an upcoming collaboration with Y/PROJECT, the Paris-based label headed by Glenn Martens. Their new collection is set for its runway debut later this month when Y/PROJECT host their SS22 show on the 27th June in the French capital.

“I see this collaboration, really, as a marriage of Y/PROJECT’s experimental spirit and Fila’s innovative drive grounded in sportswear,” says Martens. “The process was as easy as it was fun, and it allowed me to openly explore a streetwear direction that felt new. There is a fresh, happy vibe to the endeavor that I think is right for this moment.”

Combining two distinct identities and approaches to streetwear, the collection promises to blend the best of Martens’ conceptual vision with the everyday Fila staples that have withstood the test of time. Emphasising versatility and independent interpretation, t-shirts, hoodies, polo-neck dresses, windbreakers and more are designed to be worn multiple ways courtesy of strategically placed buttons, reversible collars and optional straps. With only the image of a joint logo available for now and the collection hitting shelves in March next year, the long wait is bound to be worth it.
