With their new capsule collection, Fantastic Green, Milan-based label MSGM are looking to a more environmentally conscious future. The collection is aimed at those with, “the courage to change, to go beyond circumstances, beyond the present”, and signals the beginning of a future-proofing process that will encompass the whole brand.

Sweatshirts, t-shirts, trousers and shorts are all made from certified organic cottons (GOTS and BCI) and come in various shades of green, pink, light blue and white. These items are dyed using special agents that reduce the level of polluting emissions to almost zero, while prints are produced with biodegradable water-based textile inks, made with natural-origin ingredients and without the use of chemicals.

The eco-orientated principles of the collection are set to extend to the rest of MSGM, who are in the middle of evaluating their production lines to improve sustainability. That process begins with the production and distribution of their clothes, meaning all hangers and plastic bags will be made from 100 percent recycled materials and inner labels from recycled polyester.

“It is difficult to imagine the future without fashion being green,” says MSGM’s founder and creative director Massimo Giorgetti. “We must all work on ensuring that the production chain evolves, transforms itself to protect the environment. With the Fantastic Green collection, MSGM is embarking on a process of experimentation and innovation that will lead it to rethink, step by step, all its activities from an environmentally-friendly perspective.”

Fantastic Green will be available worldwide from January 2021 online, at all multibrand stores and MSGM shops.
