Back in the 1920s, when Louis Vuitton was known primarily for its super-luxe, monogrammed luggage, the company made a bellhop boy – known only as “groom” – the face of their advertisements. Now, the vintage mascot has started his own football team and you can control his sporting destiny thanks to the brand’s new ‘Babyfoot’ football table.

The product, which comes in a handful of colourways including cyan, pistachio and fuchsia, continues Louis Vuitton’s lesser-known gaming history. In the past, stylish travellers have snapped up everything from chess and backgammon travel cases to poker and croquet trunks, taking them across the globe to continually game with ultimate style.

As always, luxury is the focus: every player on the football table comes hand-painted with their own team colours and defining features, whereas even the coins to tally scores come adorned with the brand’s signature Monogram flower. As a result, it can take up to a year after ordering for the table to be meticulously crafted and to land on your doorstep. Thanks to Louis Vuitton, The Beautiful Game has never looked better.
