Claudia Ricco has been collecting archive Chanel pieces since 2003, combing carefully through the brand’s fabled history to curate the best selection for her Rewind Vintage online boutique. This reputation recently earned her access to the personal archive of the late, glamorous socialite Catherine McNulty, who spent years adding to her personal collection of 47 rare pieces. Now, thanks to Rewind’s collaboration with e-commerce site Farfetch, these Chanel classics are available to shop online.

From ornate jewellery to tweed jackets finished with Chanel’s signature chain trim, the archive is made up primarily of pieces from the 1980s onwards – otherwise known as the heyday of longstanding creative director Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away last year. The carefully-curated collection also reflects McNulty’s personal fascination with a handful of his model muses, like Yasmin Le Bon, Ines de la Fressange and Claudia Schiffer.

Archive sales like these don’t come along often – and for collectors in particular, they’re a chance to snap up an important piece of fashion history. For the rest of us, they’re a welcome dose of nostalgia and a rare glimpse into the lives, wardrobes and fascinations of socialites past and present.

Vintage Rewind’s Chanel archive collection is available exclusively on Farfetch.
