Never one to mince his words, Larry David has issued a characteristically candid public safety announcement via California’s Governor office urging people to abide by social isolation rules and take up “a once in a lifetime opportunity to stay in the house, sit on the couch and watch television.”

Addressing the nation from the comfort of his own armchair (or is that a day bed?), David sets out to “address the idiots out there”, who are ignoring government guidelines and endangering old people like himself (not that you’ll ever meet him, he hastens to add).

He joins a list of major industry names to have released PSA’s in the last few weeks, including fellow comedian Mel Brooks and the cast of HBO’s Watchmen and Contagion. None however, matched the eloquence of David who, in his own special way, summed exactly what we were all thinking.

Having just seen the tenth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm wrap up in March, David is quick to point out that, “If you’ve seen my show, nothing good ever happens going out of the house, there’s just trouble out there. It’s not a good place to be.” So stay inside, and no stop and chats! Hear, hear.
