Watch the trailer for Spike Jonze’s new Beastie Boys doc
Film+TV | 12 March 2020

Ahead of Spike Jonze’s much-anticipated Beastie Boys documentary hitting screens on 3rd April, the project now has its first full-length trailer.

“Now here’s a little story that I’ve got to tell/ About three bad brothers that you know so well,” the trio’s opening rap from their 1986 hit Paul Revere begins the teaser as we’re taken on a montage trip through the band’s trailblazing history.

Featuring conversations with Mike D and Ad-Rock alongside archival footage, the film acts as an extension of 2018’s Beastie Boys Book, a memoir that paid tribute to Adam “MCA” Yauch, who died of cancer in 2012. Live sections of the documentary were filmed during Horovitz and Diamond’s recent tour, also directed by Jonze, while the filmmaker will also be releasing a special Beastie Boys photo book on 17th March via Rizzoli, compiling shots from throughout their career.

Beastie Boys Story will be shown at selected IMAX cinemas on 3rd April before being released on Apple TV+ on 24th April.
