Go side of stage as Temples bring a slice of psychedelia to All Points East
Music | 5 June 2019

This month saw Temples play at All Points East festival under headliners The Strokes.

Taking to the West Stage, the British band romped through a set that spanned their 2014 acclaimed debut, Sun Structures, 2017 sophomore work, Volcano, and even some new numbers from their recently announced third record Hot Motion (out via ATO Records on 27th September).

As temperatures soared, tassels began swaying in the direction of Temples’ set, as if summoned for their psych fix. Hitting the stage with their trademark drainpipe trousers and bubble perm hair, we were given a spiraling taste of lizard king psychedelia – gyrating between desert groove and krautrock pulse. Washed down with a few tinnies, it all tasted that bit sweeter; cosmic dancers, we sure were.

As it happens, we packed a camera in the band’s crushed velvet carry-on for some backstage/side-of-stage/front-of-the-stage shots during their killer performance. Best spot in the house – peek here.

Keep up-to-date with Temples here.
