Continuing from their Happy Room project at Design Miami in 2016, Fendi Casa – the Italian House’s homeware line – reunite with Italian architect and interior designer Cristina Celestino for Salone del Mobile 2019. Visitors to their showroom on Milan’s elegant Via Solari promenade will be treated to a special installation conceived by Celestino in collaboration with the House to celebrate Fendi’s iconic Pequin striped motif.

Back Home not only evokes an integral part of the brand’s visual signature since it was introduced in 1987 – coincidentally the year its Casa design line was launched – but sets out Fendi’s ambition to expand their future design collaborations. Having worked with emerging talent at Design Miami for the best part of ten years, the House is concentrating its efforts to develop talent by expanding production and targeting specific niche markets.

The installation consists of several statement pieces housed within an installation that recalls a Roman house from the 1970s. Laced with opulence and bourgeois glamour, its antique sculptures, open terraces and terracotta floors provide the perfect context for the Back Home collection to be exhibited. From coffee tables and carpets, emblazoned with Fendi’s monogram, to mirror and lamps whose silhouettes are inspired by cufflinks, the collection is both a demonstration of Fendi’s keen eye for colour and materials and their unwavering commitment to uncovering young talent. We’ll take it all, thanks very much.

Salone del Mobile is on until April 14th 2019
