Having revealed his debut Celine campaign late last year, Hedi Slimane has followed up with part two, featuring four nascent British bands: Drug Store Romeos, Walt Disco, Lady Bird and Ugly.

Throughout his campaigns, show soundtracks, collections and personal photography, Hedi Slimane has been editing, curating and documenting the sounds of our times for the past twenty years; the idols, the emerging artists and most of all the fans. Here, in this latest Celine campaign, Slimane returns to British soil to spotlight four young bands making significant waves on the gig circuit.

A source of rich potential for the French designer, Slimane frequently travelled to the UK during the early 00s indie scene to photograph the likes of Pete Doherty, Amy Winehouse, The Rakes, The Littl’ans, These New Puritans and The Heartbreaks, amongst others, for his online photo journal, Rock Diary – capturing from the eye of a musical storm that reverberated worldwide and filtered directly into his agenda-setting work at Dior Homme.

It’s now 2019, and Slimane once again has his finger on the sonic pulse. Photographed in London in December 2018 and soundtracked by Lady Bird’s Spoons (a kitchen sink ode to the British pub chain), see the Celine SS19 campaign video below and then Google the four bands featured; the Hedi stamp of approval is ultimate.
