Five years on from the dramatic series finale of Breaking Bad, the show’s creator and director Vince Gilligan has confirmed that he’s working on a film based on the hit series.

Though it is yet to be confirmed whether Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will resume their respective roles as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman for the new feature, the two hour project will, according to Gilligan, “be set in the existing Breaking Bad franchise”. The project’s working title is rumoured to be Greenbrier and will “follow the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom” in the city of Alberquerqe, New Mexico, a city familiar to all die-hard fans of the original series.

Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show, Bryan Cranston recently said, “It’s a great story, and there’s a lot of people who felt that they wanted to see some sort of completion to some of these storylines that were left open. This idea, from what I was told, gets into at least a couple of the characters who were not completed as far as their journey. I can’t wait to see all those people again… even if I just come by to visit!”

In anticipation for the movie, we suggest rewatching the entire series. It can never be enough times.
