Here, Raf Simons continues to explore America’s identity through the powerful lens of nostalgia, retracing what we collectively think of as quintessentially American. Accordingly, this is an all out homage to Americana, a tribute to stars and stripes, bald eagles and the American outdoors that marries timeless Calvin Klein iconography (think lots of Brooke Shields’ high kicks) with graphic prints of never ending skies and intrepid cowboys.

This is as much about Simons exploring the legacy of the brand and its entrenched American aesthetic as it is about laying the foundations for a new one. In this sense, the collection echoes a similar sentiment to Simon’s previous campaigns for the brand, partnering young and old in the same image to create fertile ground for the next generation of Calvin Klein.

Calvin Klein’s JEANS ESTABLISHED. 1978 is available now at calvinklein.com.
